€120,000 for the Wild Card MILLE DREAMS

A few minutes later, Nicolas de Watrigant (Mandore International Agency) signed the docket at €120,000 for the Fabrice Chappet trained MILLE DREAMS, offered as a Wild Card. A winner on her debut over a mile Compiègne, the three-year-old daughter of Dream Ahead hails from the family of Group winners TRAMPOLI, LUTH DE SARON, ROI NORMAND ou encore LUTH DANCER.

 

 

LOT 463
TORNEO sold for €110,000 to Tom Malone

Tom Malone went to €110,000 for the Jean-Claude Rouget trained TORNEO. A winner over 2,000 metres at Pau at the beginning of the year and placed on his last three starts, the three-year-old son of Toronado hails from the family of Prix de Diane (Gr.1) winner LATICE and Prix du Jockey Club (Gr.1) scorer LAWMAN.

We’ve bought him with Jamie Snowden who will train him with the objective of running him in juvenile hurdles, said Tom Malone. He has everything to be a jumper and I think we have a great season ahead of us.

Wild Card JANEBUG sold for €120,000

Just afterwards, the Jean-Claude Rouget trained JANEBUG was knocked down for €120,000.  Bidding on behalf of the Australian syndicate First Light Racing, Matt Houldsworth (Howson & Houldsworth Bloodstock) had the final say for the three-year-old daughter of Lope De Vega. The well-bred filly is a half-sister to Listed winner MAQSAD and a granddaughter of AQUARELLISTE, herself a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner ARTISTE ROYAL.

She’ll stay in training in France and join Nicolas Clement before going down to Australia this winter, said Matt Houldsworth. She’s a lovely filly and we’re delighted.

Wild Card MY LYKA joinsWillie Mullins

Most recently fourth in the Grand Prix de Chantilly (Gr.2) following the printing of the catalogue and offered as a Wild Card, the Hiroo Shimizu trained MY LYKA was knocked down for €110,000 to the trio of Pierre Boulard (PB Bloodstock), Harold Kirk and Willie Mullins. A two time winner and regularly placed, the four-year-old son of Intello with a 98 rating is from the family of Group 1 winner BEST OF THE BESTS.

He’s a big horse that has the physique to go over jumps, said Harold Kirk. He’ll go to Willie Mullins - we’re very happy

Purple Pay knocked down down for €90,000

Offered from The Channel Consignment in foal for the first time to Doctor Dino, PURPLE LADY made €90,000 in favour of Hubert Barbe (Horse Racing Advisory). The well-bred daughter of Joshua Tree is none other than a half-sister to IRESINE, a multiple Group winner including in the Prix  Ganay and Prix Royal-Oak at the highest level. 

I’ve bought her for Hubert O’Delant of Haras de Couely that wishes to invest in nice broodmare prospects, said the agent. She’ll stay in France and we hope she’ll have a colt by Doctor Dino.

€145,000 for a daughter of Kapgarde

A little later, the gavel fell at €145,000 for Group placed SIDERALIS, offered in foal for the first time to No Risk At All. Jean-Christian Raymond signed the docket for the daughter of Kapgarde, consigned by Haras de la Vallée. He said,

Her pedigree speaks for itself. She’s a daughter of Kapgarde, a very good broodmare sire and she’s in foal to a very good stallion in No Risk At All. Maurice Rohaut, his son Francois and Jean-Marie Mercier introduced me to thoroughbreds. Now she is my eighth mare and I’m very happy.

Daughter of Kitten’s Joy sold to BBA Ireland

Featuring a breeding section as well as Flat and National Hunt horses-in-training, the second day of the Summer Sale began this morning. Offered from Haras d’Ombreville in foal for the first time to Japan, SANTA JULIA was knocked down for €95,000. Representing BBA Ireland, Paul Curran signed the docket for the daughter of Kitten’s Joy out of Listed scorer SARANDIA from the family of the talented SAPHIR and PEPPERTREE LANE.

Son of Zarak knocked down for €240,000

Among the last lots to go through the ring today was an eagerly awaited son of Zarak from The Channel Consignment on behalf of Hamel Stud. The duo of Guy Petit and Edward James had the final say at €240,000 for the half-brother to Listed winner NIKO HAS from the close family of the very talented NIRVANA DU BERLAIS, AUBUSSON, TRIANA DU BERLAIS and MA FILLEULE.

Hes a lovely well made colt, said Edward James. Hell go to England to be pre-trained and we hope he can make into a good racehorse and then stallion in the future.

€115,000 for a son of Motivator

Buyers were once again numerous around the ring for a son of Motivator from Ballyreddin & Busherstown. It was the agent Tom Malone that had the final say at €115,000 for the gelding from the family of Prix Alain du Breil (Gr.1)  winner FOR FUN.

He’s been bought for a group of friends, said the agent. He will probably run in France.

Son of Doctor Dino for Willie Mullins

Eagerly awaited in the ring, a son of Doctor Dino out of the black-type winning EX FAN DES SIXTIES was knocked down for €110,000. Harold Kirk signed the docket for the colt out of the family of Listed winners MUSICA BELLA, ALARY and IRIS BLEU consigned by The Channel Consignment for Haras du Mesnil.

He’s a magnificent colt that walks very well, said Harold Kirk. He’s a real Doctor Dino with good size and a lovely head. We’re very happy and like him a lot - we’ve had a lot of success with offspring by the sire. He’ll go to Willie Mullins.

Daughter of Nirvana du Berlais sold for €105,000

Consigned by Ballyreddin & Busherstown, a daughter of Nirvana du Berlais was knocked down for €105,000 in favour of Thierry Delègue (Pegase Bloodstock) on behalf of Arnaud Van Robais. The well-bred filly is a half-sister to the black-type performers GREY DIAMOND and BAI DE BAIE and hails from the family of Grande Course de Haies d’Auteuil (Gr.1) scorer PAUL’S SAGA.

Were very happy - shes a magnificent two-year-old that resembles FABULOUS DRAGONESS that we bought here a few years ago, said Arnaud van Robais. There are two objectives with her, to race and to breed from her, and she ticks all the boxes. She has a great pedigree and hails from a great maternal line that has produced good horses.

A little later in the day, a son of Zarak out of the black-type CHATA JOANA HAS was knocked down for €125,000.   It was Bertrand Le Metayer (BLM Bloodstock) that signed the docket for the grandson of Listed winner and Group 1 placed CHEGEI HAS that has produced Listed winners NA HAS and NAMOUR HAS, from The Channel Consignment.

He’s a colt that looks ready made to run at three at Auteuil, said the agent. I’ve bought him with Mr Rolland and Mr Chaille-Chaille and we’re decide what the plan is later on.

€110,000 for a son of Muhtathir

Just afterwards, Pierre Boulard (PB Bloodstock) also went to €110,000 for a son of Muhtathir out of the black-type BOREALE DU BERLAIS. Consigned by Haras du Hoguenet, the gelding is a half-brother to BO ZENITH, a winner over hurdles at Auteuil and Grade 1 placed this year. The well-bred gelding hails from the family of BONITO DU BERLAIS, NIKITA DU BERLAIS, ANGELA DU BERLAIS, and MATILDA DU BERLAIS.

Very active around the ring today, Pierre Boulard (PB Bloodstock) went to €110,000 to secure a daughter of Blue Bresil from Ballyreddin & Busherstown. The well-bred filly is a half-sister to this year's triple Graded winning mare IMPERVIOUS.

A little later, a son of No Risk At All was knocked down for €100,000. The Irish trainer Ian Ferguson had the final say for the colt, offered from Haras des Loges, from the excellent family of SAINT DU CHENET, TANAIS DU CHENET, HOTESSE DU CHENET, GALANT MOSS, IRIS ROYAL, MA ROYAL and VIVIANE ROYALE.

€90,000 for a half-brother to GARDE DE BURGE

In the stores section, a son of Goliath du Berlais out of Listed winner TORNADA was knocked down for €90,000. Bertrand Le Metayer signed the docket for the half-brother to Group winner GARDE DE BURGE and Listed scorer MARTATOR, consigned by Ballyreddin & Busherstown.

I have bought him to go to Marcel Rolland to follow on from CRYSTAL BEACH, said the agent. The Douglas Gordon family were looking for a horse to run next spring and continue the nice association. Physically he looks tough and forward - we think he should be able to run in the spring as a three-year-old.

€85,000 for a son of Sea The Moon

The Summer Sale began this morning with the first part of the catalogue, two-year-old flat breds that breezed yesterday afternoon at Deauville-La Touques Racecourse.

Offered from Knockanglass Stables, a son of Sea The Moon was knocked down for €85,000. Nicolas de Watrigant (Mandore International Agency), standing beside Alessandro Botti, had the final say for the colt from the family of Group 1 winners ERIN COURT, SPECTRUM, PETRUSHKA and CONDUIT.

I think he’s one of the best colts in the sale, said Alessandro BOTTI. He is by Sea The Moon, that is a good stallion, and his dam has already produced two winners. We’ve bought him for Mr. Jathiere and one of my clients. We’re very happy and I’m looking forward to him joining me.
